Course description:

The presenter of this course will highlight results of an informal scoping review on entry-level occupational therapy education, as well as summarize other trends in OT education based on her involvement in various state and national organizations.  She will present several implications of these trends for OT educators and practitioners. Following the formal presentation, the presenter will facilitate discussions surrounding the trends and implications and solicit participant feedback about their perspectives on these topics.

Course objectives:

By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:

  1. Express understanding of trends in OT education based on recent literature and discussions/events within state and national organizations
  2. Discuss implications for OT educators and practitioners based on trends in OT education

7:45-8:30: Large group discussion, Q&A
