Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common compressive neuropathy of the upper extremity. While most patients improve with simple decompression, a subset continue to have persistent symptoms. This lecture will delve into proximal median nerve compression at the lacertus fibrosus as a cause of carpal tunnel failure. Participants will gain insights on diagnosis, treatment, and management of proximal median nerve compression. Occupational therapy practitioners will learn about the role of revision carpal tunnel to better interface with surgical colleagues in complex and difficult nerve pathologies.
