Course Description: Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities seek healthcare services in hospitals, but their experiences and outcomes are poorer than the general population. Presenters will provide an overview of a hospital system program addressing the needs of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities during hospital stays. A case study demonstrating the effectiveness of the implementation of the program for an adult patient will be provided.
