Course Description: Native Americans have some of the worst and some of the best statistics when it comes to substance abuse. One avenue for addressing the issue involves the use of traditional occupations, such as drumming, singing, dancing, sweat lodges, beading, sewing, etc. Occupational therapy has a unique opportunity to advance the methods that work. But to do this, the barriers of stereotypes, misinformation, and outright lies must be overcome.
