Course Description: Cortical Visual Impairment is a diagnosis that OT practitioners should be aware of when working with students with disabilities in the school environment as it is estimated that, given medical advancements, more individuals may have CVI than previously identified. This presentation will outline the ten characteristics of Cortical Visual Impairment and provide some ideas that OT practitioners can use to adapt tasks and the environment to best meet the visual needs of students with this brain-based visual impairment.
