Course Description: Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) paired with upper extremity (UE) rehabilitation with the Vivistim Paired VNS was FDA approved for chronic ischemic stroke in 2021. Shown to be effective in the clinic in previous studies, this therapy may not be accessible to many patients due to factors such as time, mobility, or geographic constraints. Results of an ongoing exclusively home-based Paired VNS intervention study show feasibility and promise for neurorehabilitation.
