Course Description: This presentation discusses how international fieldwork and capstone
experiences can be used to develop culturally adapted programming for community partners
that serve people with developmental disabilities in the U.S. It will also discuss the feasibility
and benefits of having a cultural program consultant in community-based settings. Strategies to
promote the cultural adaptation of existing health and wellness curricula will be discussed and
applied to a community-based case example.
