Course Description: Individuals with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) are living longer and experiencing typical age-related health issues in combination with their disability specific impairments. As a result, new challenges to supporting aging adults with IDD in community-based settings have arisen. This presentation focuses on understanding these issues and applying occupational therapy assessment and interventions to support aging adults with IDD to remain in their homes as they age.
