People with Disabilities (PWD) are impacted by their environment and face numerous barriers when navigating airline transportation. These experiences are associated with lack of self-confidence, lack of control, and exhibiting helplessness (Lee et al., 2012). The purpose of this presentation is to illustrate and summarize the meaning of these experiences and discuss how occupational therapists can use this information to advocate for PWD when participating in airline travel.
